Get Involved

Get Inspired

Each year 12.6 million men, women, and children worldwide are diagnosed with some type of cancer. Continued research to find better, smarter, more effective treatments is urgently needed.

Individuals and community organizations make a real difference in our fight against cancer by holding fundraising events on our behalf. These events include formal dinner and dance parties, community sports tournaments, cross country bike rides, fashion shows, gallery openings, auctions, walk-a-thons, and many others. We are always impressed by the creativity and ingenuity displayed by these motivated organizers.

Over the years, these fundraisers have generated millions of dollars in additional donations—money we have directed to promising medical researchers working to discover immunological therapies for cancer.

Here are just a few examples of what you can do.

Bar Nights

End the day with friends, family, and colleagues and host a happy hour to support CRI. Ask your local bar to host you and your supporters for a night of fun for a greater cause. Create specialty drink menus, collect admission fees, and guest bartend for additional tips.

Golf Outing

Plan a golf outing to gather local supporters for CRI. Participants enter as four-person teams and pay a fee to play a round. Raise additional funds with prizes and hole sponsorships. What could be better than enjoying a day on the links to raise funds for cancer research?

Run, Walk, Bike, Swim, Climb

Race for CRI! Participating in an endurance race or competition is a great gesture to show your support for the fight against cancer. Join Team CRI or simply enter a local race and set up a fundraising page in support of CRI.

School Fundraising

Kids love to get involved in activities for a good cause and need little encouragement to do good things. Talk to your child’s teacher or school principal to see if they would let you help organize a fundraiser with your child’s class.

Almost any month can provide a fun theme that the children will want to be involved in. Why not hold a pep rally in  “Pep”tember; Wear crazy socks in “Sock”tober, Get moving in “Move”mber, You get the idea.

Getting Married?

Consider asking your guests to make a donation to the Cancer Research Institute on your behalf in lieu of a wedding gift. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate your new life together while making a significant difference and a substantial contribution to CRI's work to conquer cancer.

Other Ideas

Host any unique event you can think of. Gather friends, family, or community members to throw a dinner party, create a neighborhood bowling championship, bake your favorite treats for a bake sale, host a fashion show, collect loose change, or plan anything your creativity may lead you to. The possibilities are endless!

Wear White For A Cure

Join CRI and others in the support for cancer immunotherapy research by wearing white on Friday, June 7.
