Run the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon with Team CRI

March 29, 2013 | Erin Kim

We’re excited to announce that the Cancer Research Institute has been selected to be a participating charity in the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon (MCM). Known as “The People’s Marathon,” MCM is the third largest marathon in the United States and voted “Best Marathon in the Mid Atlantic,” “Best Marathon for Charities,” “Best DC Race,” and “Best Race to Spectate.” The mission of the MCM is “to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill, and showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps.”

Over the past two years, Team CRI runners ran the 26.2 mile race and raised close to $30,000 for CRI’s mission to fund critical research in the development of promising new immune-based treatments for all different types of cancer.

The 2013 Marine Corps Marathon, which takes place in Arlington, VA, on October 27 brings together runners from all walks of life. The MCM registration opened on March 27, and their public registrations sold out in a record breaking 2 hours and 27 minutes! Luckily, we still have 25 slots secured for the race, ready to be filled by runners. Join Team CRI to be a part of a group of runners going the distance to help conquer cancer.
