Lisbeth Garassino is a focused, high-energy digital marketing professional with five plus years experience developing and delivering custom integrated marketing programs for the children’s publisher Scholastic. She wrote grants generating up to $20 million annually by effectively packaging Scholastic resources to corporate, nonprofit, and government clients. She pioneered social media for Scholastic’s Education Division in addition to managing its authors speaking bureau and national events. After Scholastic, Lisbeth worked for Wireless Generation, a division of News Corporation, developing and leading strategic marketing initiatives for innovative educational software.
Lisbeth received a B.A. degree from College of the Holy Cross, was a Fulbright scholar in Eastern Europe, and manages a volunteer program in Bosnia, Builders for Peace. In Romania, Lisbeth taught a Media and Journalism course at the University of Bucharest, leading post-communist students to a new thought process on the way the media can operate. In Bosnia, Lisbeth led a group of volunteers to Gracanica to teach English skills to high school students. She continues to coordinate educational initiatives in Bosnia and is also active in the Fulbright Association of NYC.
Most recently, Lisbeth has turned her focus to cancer research, hoping to use her marketing and writing skills to further the development of a cure for cancer. She is interested in cancer research due in large part to her lovely aunt Lynn, who passed from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and her brother Joe, who at 28 was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. Joe was Lis's favorite and only sibling. Joe passed January 20th, 2013.
