CRI Feels the LOVE and Wins $250,000!

Olivia Wilde, Lorenzo Delpani, Jill O'Donnell-Tormey, Halle Berry

We are beyond excited to announce the Cancer Research Institute’s SECOND PLACE finish in the Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge. Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, PhD, CEO and director of scientific affairs at the Cancer Research Institute, accepted a check for $250,000 from Revlon CEO Lorenzo Delpani and Revlon Ambassadors Olivia Wilde and Halle Berry at a star-studded after party hosted by Revlon at NYC's Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Plaza Wednesday night.

The first-ever Revlon LOVE IS ON Million Dollar Challenge celebrated over 100 charitable organizations that focus on important women’s health issues, like cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The campaign, which launched September 21, inspired the spirit of giving as well as the spirit of competition; participating charities raised nearly three million dollars over the five-week challenge.

For CRI, the $250,000 prize donation from Revlon comes in addition to the more than $758,000 contributed to CRI by supporters throughout the campaign, which ended on October 29. CRI will dedicate this amount—more than one million dollars—to funding scientists who are unlocking the answer to cancer inside each of us, our immune system. This approach to cancer treatment, immunotherapy, has the potential to cure all types of cancer, including breast, lung, and colorectal cancer, the top three worldwide causes of cancer deaths in women.

This incredible opportunity was full of LOVE for CRI, our scientists, and our mission to transform the treatment of cancer through immunotherapy. We are humbled by the support shown by all those who rallied behind this challenge and are grateful to Revlon and CrowdRise for the opportunity to be a part of such a unique campaign!
