Members Bijan Safai, MD, DSc New York Medical College Valhalla, NY Dr. Bijan Safai is the chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the New York Medical College. Dr. Safai is a noted dermatology specialist, with expertise in treating various skin cancers, including melanoma and Kaposi’s sarcoma. He also identified the viral origin of Kaposi’s sarcoma and helped in the initial identification of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Dr. Safai has been a member of CRI’s Scientific Advisory Council since 1996.
